I’m just a girl in her 30’s who lives in Whitehall, MI with my husband DJ, and our four kiddos. My husband and I love a good project and have tackled many home renovations in our 13 years of marriage. Our latest reno has been the space on Dowling Street that you all can come and see!

I grew up in the home construction world with my grandfather owning a successful painting and contracting company in Lansing and my parents also being talented in the home renovation and design world. I’ve been surrounded by this my entire life and want to keep the tradition going for years to come with my own kids.

I have many memories of being a super young girl on job sites having lunch with the crew and touring the newest project. My mom, Loretta, instilled a love for all the different designs, decor, and styles of houses, and exploring them was so neat to me as a child. I truly believe every home can be beautiful and unique. Watching my parents renovate my grandmother’s 100-year-old home showed me that the older the home, the richer and deeper the story. From brand new houses to dilapidated farm homesteads, they are all fascinating to me.

Creating Home and Gather is so much more than a beautiful mercantile of decor or an event space to fill. I created it to merge two things that I believe are two of the most important things in anyone’s life – Home and the loved ones you welcome into it.

Our front doors are meant to be open, and our most memorable moments are meant to be shared. Giving our community a beautiful home-like location to celebrate with family and friends is the ultimate success for myself and my own family. Bringing a mercantile to help you create your perfect space or find the perfect gift is so rewarding as a design enthusiast.
